Here are the Dickens performing at the National Guard Armory, 1967.
From the left are Jimmy Smith on bass, Louie Boyleston playing lead guitar,
Ron Bowman on vocals that night, Richard Pierce on the keyboard and
Skip Higgins on drums.
What a band! What a venue!
If you weren't at the Armory, you might be at The Electric Experience!
Shown here are the Curle Brothers Blues Band, 1983, at the Sun Ray Oyster Shop.
They continued to play there for many years after the Oyster Shop became Sun Ray Taco Shop.
Here are The Laymen. Left to right is Forrest Higgins, Newman Gersen, Suzy Storm, Tommy Ratchford and Jimmy Roark.
Not visible is the drummer, Johnny Lowe.
What a great bill at the Experience that weekend! Definitely three of Pensacola's finest in 1967!
(thanks to Jimmy Roark for the Experience and Laymen pics)
